As a professional interior designer, and one who specializes in Boys Bedroom Designs (it is the most rewarding and fun!), I think that one of the most important elements in the initial design of a little boy's bedroom, is to include your son in the process as much as possible. When they are a little older, it's great to sit and have a quick discussion on what they envision their new bedroom will look like. Although the details covered in this process are largely dependent on your child's age, by the age of three, most children will already have formed some preferences as to what colors they like best, and some will have a specific theme in mind. Another way to start is by having them look at some of the photos of the kid's bedding that is available online, and have them point out several styles that appeal to them right away.
